the only way it is worth it is if you live a very portable life and want to only have one (1) computer.
otherwise you can just about build a mid tier pc around the cost of enclosures.

specs wise yes it will greatly improve the performance of that laptop when gaming, probably not so much 3d design.

Is it worth connecting egpu with t4 to my asus ux3405ma ultra 9 185h laptop for 3d designs and games? Screenshot2025-05-27213817.thumb.png.45b9924676e5de4cb336c6766f6aa802.png

what are you use for your 3d design, and what games are you playing?

im studying psychology and when i return or have any time to spare i just wanna connect this laptop and play with it.

i got 3060 ti and psu i might buy 4070 ti or anything new that came out recently.

keep in mind the e-gpu is normally the size of a small desktop and must be kept in a well ventilated area and cannot be more than 3-5 meters from the laptop without special cabling.

I have an Oculink on my everyday computer.  I've thought about getting an enclosure and (possibly) a 9060xt but I have a big computer laying right on the floor with a 4090.  The only thing it satisfies really is my desire to tinker.  I don't always want to turn the big machine on though it dumps so much heat in the room.

EDIT: I waste so much money because I like to tinker lol
