I'm thinking about upgrading my computer but I don't know what to upgrade. I bought a pre built pc in september, which i now really regret, i upgraded the PSU and the GPU in december.

System specs: Processor - Intel core i7 3770 3.4GHz 4 core

                        PSU - Corsair CX500M

GPU - Asus GTX 650 Ti BOOST

                        Storage - 1TB

                        RAM - 1x8GB

                        Motherboard - H-Joshua-H61-uATX

add an SSD and get a 2x4GB kit for RAM you could also upgrade the GPU if you want more performance in games.

but it is not worth it to sell the 8gb kit and then get 2x4.

I personally say refresh that 650 Ti.

Although, I cannot argue with everyone else saying get an SSD.. Definitely one of the most noticeable upgrades you can do. But, I still say go with a better GPU, for example the 8xx series when it's released. Your CPU is fine, PSU will probably handle it (maaaybe), and the rest is just fine for now.

I was going to go with the new motherboard but is there a big difference in getting a gaming one and is there a big difference in pcie 2.0 and 3.0. I probably will go for SSD but i don't know about the new GPU, what would you recommend.

Gaming Motherboards versus those not marketed as gaming, the only difference is features. There's no real boost in "gaming performance" if you were, for example, to go with a WS MoBo. Just loss of some (rather, neat) features.

As far as PCIe 2.0 vs 3.0 - The main difference is double the bandwidth. Will it make a difference? Probably not. Read: Click Here!

And, for new GPU, whatever's in your budget is what I would recommend. Maybe a GTX 770 or so? If you can?

That helps a lot but what about my processor because on my motherboard specs it says it supports up to i7 2nd gen sandy bridge. Sure my motherboard isn't bottlenecking anything. I think i will look at a new GPU might go for the 770 it looks good for gaming and there doesn't seem to be a good competitor from AMD, I mioght have to change the PSU though.

What's your total budget?
