Hi Everyone

I have an old Dell Optiplex gxl5120 pc running Windows 98 that is used to control a small hobby cnc machine in my garage through the use off the ISA slot so unfortunately it can't be upgraded.

The failed power supply is 145w 20 pin atx model number PS-5151-1 I seem to be getting confused on all the PSUs that i seem to stumble across only have 19 pins where as this failed one has 20 pins.

Can I use a 19 pin and get this powered back up I'm unsure off interchangeability on things like this

Any help appreciated

Thanks

if it runs 98 you can just yank the hard drive and put it into a different machine and it'll boot. then install news drivers etc...

however if you need this specific machine then just buy the same power supply again. Dell did some real crappy power supply stuff back in the day and i wouldn't be surprised if it's the same connector with all the pins moved around.

also you can definitely upgrade that machine

if you pull the drive and the isa card and install it into a newer machine they should work provided you install the drivers the newer machine needs. Something like a pentium 3 machine would be possible vs the socket 5 system.
