Strangely enough, I think it's GPU. the 10GB on the 3080 will get you by, but ideally 16GB so you can use maxed out texture packs, might be the way to go.

Conversely, if you're not running out of VRAM, there are CPUs that outperform the 12900K, by much? I'm not sure, but might be worth considering an AM5 option, even if it's just for consuming 300W less usage for the same (or likely better) performance.

Ignoring those two options, everything is pretty good, the RAM is a bit loose and slow, so it'd be interesting to see how much lower on the timings you could go, maybe look at a 6000/CL30 set, but, only if it's a RAM dependent game (and only if you've tried bumping up to 6000, with higher voltage on the sticks, can't get the timings low enough, etc).

Just seems a shame to upgrade a perfectly good CPU/MB combo though, you've dodged the bullet getting 12th gen, seemingly the last great Intel platform they've made, with 13th and 14th generations burning out and this 200 nonsense series being laughable value... I would check into your motherboard's bios etc just to be sure you're not overcooking it, but I think 12th gen are ok.

Budget (including currency): CAD$

Country: Canada

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Streaming, Video Editing, Gaming

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

CPU: Intel Core i9-12900K 3.2 GHz 16-Core, MOBO: Asus ROG STRIX Z690-E GAMING WIFI ATX LGA1700, RAM: ADATA XPG LANCER 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-5200 CL38, CPU COOLER: Corsair iCUE H150i ELITE CAPELLIX 75 CFM Liquid, STORAGE: 2 X Samsung 970 Evo Plus 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 3.0 X4 NVME, GPU: MSI VENTUS 3X OC LHR GeForce RTX 3080 10GB LHR 10 GB, CASE: Razer Tomahawk ATX ATX Mid Tower, POWER SUPPLY: Corsair RM850x (2021) 850 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX, Monitors: ED320QR S, MSI G27C5 E2, MSI MAG2732

I'm looking for a new 4K monitor under $1750 for editing and gaming, as I currently don’t have one. I’m considering either an ultrawide monitor or replacing one of my existing monitors.

I'm considering upgrading or replacing an item in my setup. I'm interested in knowing which option would enhance my setup the most.

Oh no brainer, LG C4 42", end game.

Even at 1440p, as you likely know, 4K monitors look great, HDR is unbelievable, should be well within your budget. Has G-sync compatibility and Freesync premium, you're in business.

so when i get the OLED42C4PUA what should i upgrade next on pc
