8 pin to 4 pin

Go to solution Solved by mkessler9,

Yes its perfectly fine to only plug in half.

Ok so my MOBO has a 4 pin connector. And I want to upgrade my PSU and the one I'm getting is the corsair CXM series CX500M 500W. But the power connect is an 8 pin. Is it ok if I only plugin half of it. Or is there an adapter or something. I know the corsair CX500 has a 4+4 connector. But it's non modular.

The Corsair CX500M should have both an 8 pin EPS connector and a 4+4 ATX connector.
