Hello,

I'm currently using TP-Link TL-SG605 switch but i would like to learn more about switches (since I'm somewhat new to it), as well as, to what I can upgrade this to?

What are you looking for that this switch doesn't do? Do you need managed features? Do you need more speed?

Upgrading a switch is up to your needs and budget. The one you got seems decent for a regular user already.

 

If you want to learn about switches, just get a managed switch. Else there isn't anything to learn tbh, unmanaged (regular) switches just multiple your network ports.

perhaps more ports, since I have them populated. The speed doesn't matter as more for me, since I use CAT 7 to connect them all. I don't know if there is a 6-port switch?!

Get an 8 or 12-port switch. There are versions of the one you are currently using.

 

You can up-link (literally combining) by connecting switches together on any port with a patch cord as well.
