I have had this happen once or twice.  It was always a controller or something connected to the PC.

First time it was a XBOX controller and 2nd time it was the throttle pedal on my simrig.

Unplug everything from your PC and turn off Bluetooth if you have it.

Does it continue?

i checked the keyboard, i checked the mouse, the usb hub, the external cd, the hdd docking bay.... and then there was one thing i never checked until i read your reply again, and..... the usb controller was the problem.

when my wife was wiping everything on my desk, she accidentally wedged the joystick underneath the monitor..... stupid me too though, i didn't realize the joystick could control the item/menu selections in windows. i thought it was just for when playing games......

mystery solved. thanks for your help.

This is a really weird problem, I took a video with my phone, but the size if over 70mb, so I upload it to the YouTube

My wife cleaned my room a week ago, just dusting and wiping my desk and keyboard and mouse and whatever is on the desk. I don't think she touched the actual computer.

I came home and turned on the monitor and this happened. At first I thought my keyboard key was stuck, so I changed the keyboard, and problem didn't go away. Then I thought maybe the mouse click was faulty, so I changed the mouse, and the problem was and still is there.

I ran virus scan and the pc is clean.

Sometimes it starts going crazy as soon as I enter windows, but sometimes everything is fine, then it goes crazy after a while using the PC. Rebooting doesn't always help. Sometimes it does, but not always.

I really don't know what to do, and formatting my pc is the last last thing I want to do.

Please help. Thank you.

I have not connected anything new to my PC before this started happening.

The only non-conventional-pc peripherals are probably an external dvd, an external hdd docking station, and an USB hub, but these have been plugged in a long long time ago. (maybe one of these things is faulty now?)

The rest are just usual keyboard and mouse and speaker jack......

I'll give it a shot. The annoying part is that, this problem doesn't always come on......

Thank you.
