rtx 5070

Hello, im planing to build some 1440p gaming pc and i wanted an rtx 5070 in it, but as i can see it only has a 12gb of vram. Is 12gb still enough for 1440p very high settings with maybe some rt?

I would go for at least 16gb of vram for 1440p for high setting and raytracing, the 5070 is held back a little by its 12 gb of vram.

definitely not in the newest games, some go as high as 13gb even.

go for a 9070 it has more perf in 99% of the games and comes with 16gb,
but if you want nvidia you gotta have to pay more. or get a weaker 5060ti 16gb

If you don’t care about rt go for the Rx 9070 but if you care about rt go for a 4060 ti 16gb.

I've seen 18GB but that is at 4K.  Its not just allocation those specific settings performance tanks on 16GB cards but its an easy fix as those settings are extreme and unnecessary.

 

12GB on a card isn't nearly as unusable as 8GB.

16GB of vram is a better choice for 1440p. Gives you headroom as games eat up VRAM like it’s at an all you can eat buffet lol. 12GB wouldn’t allow for maximum texture quality and raytracing. I have a 5090 and at 4K I use more than 16GB of vram sometimes, so I can only imagine that 16GB for 1440p is a must.

i have decided for a 5080 as i found a site in my country that gives additional 10% discount on components, but i do have to pair with an intel ultra 7 265k cpu. so would there be any bottlenecks or would i be fine? or an i7 14th series but heard about some stability issues and idk if they are fixed.

why not get a 5070ti if you absolutely need nvidia and pair it with a 9800x3d (or even 7800x3d) cpu/mobo combo? that will be you far better off than spending 300 bucks more on a 5080 while getting a worse cpu that will hold it back more. 

 

so to answer your question, yea there would be a  bottleneck in many games and in some not at all with that cpu.

so to answer your question, yea there would be a  bottleneck in many games and in some not at all with that cpu. 

il pay up a bit more for 9800x3d pair with 5080 so its fine.
