External SSD Questions

Go to solution Solved by matt0725,

If windows assigns the same drive letter each time, it will likely work ok. Plugging/unplugging while your system is booted up may cause issues though.

I would manually set a drive letter further down the alphabet, as windows goes in order. this way having a few other usb storage devices won't push your drive out of its 'normal' spot.

Im looking to buy an external ssd for my pc, i might use it also as a steam drive for some games and to save nvidia instant replay recordings, my question is if i unplug it will steam ask me to re locate the games once i plug it back in or will it just detect that its connected and detect all steam library games on it. Same thing for nvidia instant replay will i have to everytime i unplug it and then plug it back in to go to the settings and set the recording location to the drive?
