Budget (including currency): idk?

Country: Spain

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: mostly games

I have an AM4 pc right now with a Ryzen 5 2600 and 3060 12gb, i was thinking about upgrading my pc with a new mb, cpu and gpu for 1440p but after looking at the prices of the components, it might be better for me to change everything for one AM5.

What's a good combo for 1440p? I was thinking about getting an ASUS PRIME B650-PLUS, the Ryzen 5 7600 and stick for the time being with the RTX 3060, then swap it later for a 5070 / RX 9070 XT and 7 7800X3D?

Please help me.

It depends on your budget obviously, but I don't think that's worth it from a value angle. I'd just get a 5600, or a 5700X3D if you really want to spend.

AM5 is going to need a new board and new memory.

On the future GPU upgrade: if you went with a 5700X3D it'd still be enough for a 9070 XT @ 1440p.

The 7600 (or 7800X3D) and a 5070 (Ti is a more accurate comparison) / 9070 XT would be a great combination, it just isn't cheap.

I have to change almost everything because my board is asking for help, my cpu is ancient and my ram is terrible (2x8gb 2400mhz crucial ) as well, that's why i was thinking about going for an AM5

7600 is fine then. You could also look at B850 boards. B650 Eagle is usually one of the cheapest full-size.

But even being the cheapest, is the B650 Eagle good for the long run?

I am looking at those two and I can't thell the difference: Gigabyte B650 EAGLE AX  -  Gigabyte B850 GAMING WIFI6 (i don't know shit about pc building)

What do you think about this config then? I already have the GPU (for now) 2 SSD and will buy a M.2 too

Gigabyte tend to cut down their lowest end Gaming model. From what I can see, it has half the phases of the B650 Eagle (at least, on paper). They're probably both fine in the real world, but I wouldn't buy the Gaming model just on principle.

There's a spreadsheet with lots of details linked to here (updated to include x870/b850):

Without knowing your needs going forward that's hard to say, but for the majority of users: sure. The main thing it lacks that the B850 has is PCI-E 5.0 graphics, but that has a very small performance impact with current PCI-E 5.0 cards if you use them in a PCI-E 4.0 board like the B650 Eagle.

Other 'cheap' stuff on the Eagle: mostly USB 2.0 ports on the rear I/O, 1Gb (instead of 2.5 Gb) LAN and while it has 3 M.2 slots, one of which is PCI-E 5.0, the second PCI-E 4.0 M.2 slot only supports 2 lane operation.

By the way, do you already own the AIO?

Like I said I just want to play on 1440p with good settings and without performance problems, if i can do it with the eagle or the b850 and the 7600 fine by me.

And no, I don't have the AIO, i picked one in the image but I don't know if its good enough or not

Can I use the 7600 now on that mb and then swap it to 7800X3D if needed or do I need to swap the mb too then?  Also I prefer AIO!

Yeah, they're both fine, but the base model Gaming gets a no from me, just because I don't see the justification for Gigabyte to cut the VRM in half. It isn't cheap enough to justify that either, in my opinion.

I'd recommend you get something like a peerless assassin or freezer 36, or just use the CPU's box cooler (bit noisy/hot, but it'll do). A 360mm AIO is too costly for a cheap CPU.

If i get a peerless assassin or freezer 36 do I have to swap it later for an AIO if I upgrade my GPU? I think ive read that in 1440p you mostly use GPU and not CPU so it doesn't get that hot but I'm not 100% sure.

Also what do you think about this one?

I looked into the amazon links but they don't send it to my city.

That works. Just swap the cooler after you get the AIO.

Despite the low cost, a peerless assassin/phantom spirit can cool a 7800X3D/9800X3D comfortably, so you would not need to worry if/when you upgrade.

I don't know how the Be Quiet compares. I recommend the peerless assassin because it is widely reviewed, e.g..

Phantom spirit (very similar, but an extra heatpipe):
