So I am currently Running a

MSI 570x motherboard

AMD 3900x

AMD 7900xtx

64GB Ram

2x 2TB NVME

1.5 TB SSD

NZXT CASE

NZXT AIO 3FAN

I been having issues with performance like screen tearing with game Vsync on, Amd Vsync on & Dell monitor Vsync on. Switched to using only one and all to fix the issue. But after hooking to my TV running 120HZ IT STOPPED. Some games lag a bit like Monster Hunter & Singoku  Dynasty.

However with windows the system has randomly rebooted only while gaming. I found one issue before with MSI center and AMD software running 2 different ryzen master software. Got rid of MSI center clean boot. Then couple months later doing it again. Looked at event viewer with no info on the random reboot. Just said error unexpected shutdown. Nothing critical like before.

Thinking it might be the CPU looking into upgrading the CPU for a cheaper upgrade without having to upgrade Motherboard, Ram & CPU.

Any suggestions on the random reboot and upgrade for CPU if it’s the issue. Usually happens after a while of playing couple hours. Tried STEAM OS with same game that caused reboot on windows. Played from like 7PM until 4AM with no crashes. Played surprisingly well With Dynasty.

have you tried using one ram stick at a time?

Screen tearing can be caused by high FPS and low Hz too, tearing isn't caused by performance issues usually.

Not really, why would 4080 RTX equivalent GPU be a bottleneck?

Or high speed NVME?

You're really only missing good CPU power in your system.

You could also move to AM5 platform, but of course that one would be more expensive since you'd need DDR5 RAM.

AM5 CPU+MB+DDR5 is like ~450-500$

Also what PSU you got? I assume it's pretty good since you do have 7900 XTX

And brand and model?

For the shutdowns, have you checked temps and stuff? You can check temps with this very feature rich app: https://www.hwinfo.com/download/

i have kept eye on temps to make sure they stay good and according to NZXT system they kept anywhere from 60 max 70 but it does not always crash thats whats strange. Almost makes me think its a software that is causing it. Maybe a software check or update that just so happened to hit at the right time. I have played a few different game's been shorter durations. No issues with random reboot and when it happens everything just goes blank and starts backup.

But will have to check it out during a longer gaming session.

PSU: NZXT C850 - NP-C850M - 850 Watt PSU - 80+ Gold Certified - Hybrid Silent Fan Control - Fluid Dynamic Bearings - Modular Design - Sleeved Cables - ATX Gaming Power Supply

i am good with computer troubleshooting but this really stumped me.

Can run HWinfo in the background to see what max values are reached when the PC games for that amount of time.
