So I'm currently getting temps like this on my Core 2 Quad Q6700

As you can see, there is nearly a 10 degree difference between cores 0 & 1 and 2 & 3.

 

Arctic's website recommends applying thermal paste on Core 2 Quad's like so:

Would I be best reapplying like this?

What are you going to use btw?

 

MX-4. I had used the pea in the centre method twice now and got similar results both times, with core 0 and 1 always being hotter

Hmm... maybe then there won't that much, but might be a bit better.

maybe the thermal solution for the IHS is turning dry, but I don't think you want to delid :P

 

Core 2 Quads are soldered, there is no TIM to go dry

What are you running when the pic is taken. Looks to me as the 3&4 are on less load than 1&2. Meaning most likely 32bit software. On my old C2Q I had around 5C difference between cores during stress tests.
