My issues—

BIOS update: Whenever I open up the BIOS, I get an error saying “CPU fan error, please check!” I don’t understand what’s wrong with it bc my PC is detecting it. all my case fans including the cooler are working fine.

BIOS update: I tried to set up my OS at first but read online to first update the BIOS and add all the drivers. So I first tried to update the bios using the M-flash drive on another device. I would change the file to “MSI.ROM” and then take the drive to my PC but the file doesn’t show up there. I noticed that when I don’t change the file name, it shows up in the flash bios but says I can’t use it since it’s “not from MSI”. When I also try to use the flash bios button on the rear panel of my motherboard, it doesn’t flash red after more than a second

GPU: I noticed that my GPU fans works but it doesn’t light up, would I have to set up everything else first (regarding my Bios/OS issues) bedore moving onto the GPU lighting.

additional fans:

I was considering adding two extra fans to the bottom of my case not sure how to go about this and also not sure how to tell what’s exhaust and what’s intake. I don’t even know if I can work on this any longer as I’ve been running on three hours of sleep every night for the last week.

* I got the thermaltake case because I had issues fitting the gpu into my original fractal case. The metal screw side by the rear prevented me from putting it in.

I apologize for the lack of information and my stupidity, I’m new to all of this. And yesterday I spoke to a Best Buy rep and inquired about coming in to have someone at geek squad help me finish my build. They suggested that I go with the Best Buy membership for this appointment which I went ahead and bought. I came into the store today just for geek squad to tell me that’s actually against their policy to work on custom-built PCs.

I appreciate any feedback.

If I understood correctly, you have problems with flashing the Bios.

Get the latest 7E51v1A4 bios, don't rename it. Just follow the instructions in the video on the MSI bios page

Did you connect the cooler fan to the cpu fan connector ?

If you don't quote us, we won't know you answered

Dont have to update the bios really so you can leave that be.

Your card doesnt have rgb.

The nzxt cooler is annoying as it only has one fan header and is a software controlled annoying cooler. If you plugged it into the pump header and not the cpu fan header the pc will think there is no cpu cooler attached. You can ignore this of course.

Dont see a reason for extra fans. As is should be plenty airflow

Thanks for the advice, i have it connected to the sys_pump on the motherboard and I had the cpu fan failure warning enabled in this bios.

Thanks for the help! Yeah, I assumed there was no need to update it, just considered it wouldn’t hurt to update since the current version I have is 2024.  And as for the fans, I figured it could be bc I have the cooler connected to sys_pump instead of cpu_fan header. Just wanted assurance before I drove myself even more crazy. And for the extra airflow, I don’t even think my case allows bottom fans in that I think about it, couldn’t find possible screw placement/alignment for it at the bottom.
