My AMD Ryzen 5900X paired with a NH-L9a cooler was working fine for several months until today when it suddenly started showing temps of 115 C I tried cleaning out the case however that did not fix the problem any thoughts on this?

Where exactly are you seeing these temperatures?

What are you doing when you see these temperatures?

Usually a system would crash before 115c or a CPU would limit power and voltage before hitting 115c.

Are you sure its set to C and not to F?

You have a big boy CPU under that little boy cooler.

I would change the TIM first, work on your case flow next, and get a new cooler when all of that fails.

The CPU cooling fan had died problem is temporarily fixed by attaching a new fan with twist ties and contacting noctua for support

It crashed directly after seeing these temps and I was in the PC bios the problem was a faulty fan

The CPU fan died however thank you for the suggestion I will consider it however since the cooler had previously worked just fine I'm fine knowing I could up my performance by just getting better cooling
