Internet issues

Hey! So I built my girlfriend a new pc last weekend and she has been having these really weird internet issues the whole time we have had windows (11). The issue is that youtube and other web activities are working very slowly. Also we tried to play Civilization V but everytime she would be involved the others get disconnected (when she is the host) and if she tries to join us she just can't.  Her download speed is around 900Mbps but uploads are about 20Mpbs.

Spec list:

Gigabyte B650 Eagle AX motherboard

AMD Ryzen 7600x

32GB of ddr5 ram

Storage consists of dramless SSDs (we got them for free)

AMD 7800XT GPU

 

We have tried:

• Opening the firewall (it was already open for Civ V)
• Flushing DNS
• Changing the DNS server
• Resetting the network stack
• Unallowing windows to turn off the network adapters to save power
• Updating all the motherboard drivers such as chipset, LAN and wifi drivers

The PC is connected to internet via ethernet

 

I would be extremely happy if you guys could help because honestly I have no ideas to help anymore as the problem isn't even clear

how old is her router? does it still not work if it is connected to yours?

We live in different households but would testing the performance on for example mobile hotspot work? I believe the router is quite new or at least relevant to this day

Is her pc plugged directly to the router or is there something in between?

It is plugged to like a "main" network switch via fiber optic. I've yet to see the network configuration on the router...

If you have a laptop or another pc test it with the same cable, see what happens. Could be a bad cable. Could also try opening cmd and run ping 1.1.1.1 -t and see what her ping is, and if its consistant. And what kind of internet is it that she has? adsl? coax? fiber? does she live in an apartment complex?
