I'm building my first PC and noticed my motherboard has 2 8 pin power ports. My psu provided cpu power cable is a splitter cable. Do I use the splitter cable to connect both ports on the cpu, or do I use two separate 8 pin cables?

Motherboard: MSI MAG B650 Tomahawk WIFI

PSU: Thermaltake toughpower gf A3 750W

What CPU do you have? It is almost never necessary, as one 8 pin is usually enough.

Blue will go to most graphics cards. Red will go to one of the 2 8 pin power ports. Plug both parts of the 4+4 pin connector into the same 8 pin power port.

A cable that goes from 1 8 pin to 2 6+2 pin connectors on the other side like these will always go to a GPU and not the motherboard.

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I will find your mentions of Ikea or Gnome and I will /s post.

That's the right cable
