I got a new build and wanted to ask. Right now my cpu is plugged in blue , and placeholder gpu in red,however if i get a gpu with 3x8 pin connectors, can i plug cpu header in green, and use blue+red for gpu?r/Corsair - the cable is now free.

They're all the same on the PSU side, where the 'PCIe/CPU' label comes in.

 

Most modern PSUs will only have the motherboard 24pin (usually two connectors PSU side), SATA/Molex, and then PCIe/CPU connections. Newer ones will have dedicated 12VHPWR sometimes.

 

For simplicity's sake, I'd just plug the CPU one into the bottom most available port and then the GPU can use the top two. Not for aesthetic reasons, but just for organization.
