I'm thinking of selling my old PC to build a hopefully better performing one for the Summer. I was wondering if someone could give me a price that they would pay for my PC.

Thanks in advance :D

Why do you want to sell it? It's a very solid system. If you want a better gpu just sell that.

If it's newish I think 800$ is a fair price (with it being used and everything), but again, i don't recommend selling it.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

Thinking about replacing the cpu and motherboard with an:

 CPU: AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz 6-Core Processor  ($109.99 @ NCIX US)

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 ATX AM3+ Motherboard  ($118.00 @ Newegg)

This would allow me to keep the 3570k and the motherboard. Then sell the system for $650.

Since the parts aren't that old, and it's used, i'd comfortably pay you around 500-600$ :D

But if you find someone who's computer illiterate, then you can probably sell him that for a lot more :D

I don't follow the logic of purchasing new components only to sell them immediately. This way you only loose money. What do you want to buy? Is there something specific you want? If so you will loose less money by selling the old component sparately.

I think i understand his logic...

He probably wants to buy an AMD CPU and a compatible mobo to replace 3570k and that mobo, which he would put in a new system he's building for the summer, so he could sell the whole computer as working, not as parts O.o

I'd go with 760k, and find someone who's computer illiterate, and say to him "this is a quad-core CPU, with a 2Gb GPU, 8Gb of RAM..." and sell it to them for around 850$...

Yes, exactly the thing is i'm selling it to high school students where they can't pay for expensive computer. So i reduce the cost and still have something to work with.

I plan replace the SSD, Video card and the case, this is difficult because both the SDD and GPU are somewhat old and both are discontinued. I hate the case is very difficult to work in. >:[. If i sell the whole system a lot more people are willing to buy it.

Still, if they don't know much about computers, why wouldn't you make them pay O.o It's still a lot better than what they sell as "complete" configuration's in hardware shops (seriously, 4770k without an aftermarket cooler, and 660 in SLI for 150,000.00 RSD... I can build you a nice PC with 780/290 and 4770k and with an aftermarket cooler, and have the leftover money...).

Nice idea you got there :D Buying cheaper CPU and mobo so you could sell them :D But as i said, better go with 760k, because that CPU would work great with 7850 :D And for most games it's enough :D

Hmmm i see. :D I might already have a buyer for $650 USD told him that i needed to replace a couple things. :D It's not that they wouldn't buy it's that they don't have enough money to pay that much. :P

I don't condone misleading anyone even if they're that stupid. Can't you just get a new case, new GPU, and new SSD while keeping the old case, GPU, and SSD and make that into a HTPC or something after getting a cheap mobo and CPU combo? Hell, you can get the parts and give it to some kid in your family and teach him/her about PC building or whatever.

| CPU: An abacus | Motherboard: Tin foil | RAM: 2 Popsicle sticks | GPU: Virtual Boy | Case: Cardboard box | Storage: Cardboard | PSU: 3... Er... Make that 2 hamsters | Display(s): Broken glass | Cooling: Brawndo | Keyboard: More cardboard | Mouse: Jerry | Sound: 2 Cans of SpaghettiO's |

I told the buyer that i was doing this. I told him the specs and that i'll be replacing the CPU and motherboard with a less expensive one. We was all for it. :D

I also advise to ask the buyer if he wants to pay a little more for aftermarket cooler, and you can overclock it for him :D Explain it to him, and he should be all up for it :D

You're probably looking at somewhere between $650 and $800. I say list the PC for a high amount ($800 or better) and negotiate down to what you'd be happy to take.
