Hello, i recently bought a meta quest 3s and I’m not able to get sound out of it through steam VR. Both the Steam microphone and speaker is active yet no sound comes out of it. Do any of you guys have any suggestions?

I have attempted both of the recommendations above yet neither of them worked, not that I'm home I took a screenshot of what it says when I connect my headset through steam VR. I did try one other thing which I believe worked. If you look at the first sound panel image you can see that in the playback section both the steam streaming mic and speaker was active which is why this message was confusing me. Looking at the second image I failed to realize that I also need to enable the steam applications in the recording tab. The headset is now working like it is supposed to.

I don't have a Quest 3s but for the Quest 2 I had to remove all unused audio sources from Windows settings for the default to fall onto the Quest. There's probably a bug causing Windows to ignore the Quest when there is another audio source available.

Hope that helps.

If the game/app has its own sound selection you may need to select it there. Otherwise select the quest's output as Windows default
