Hello everyone this is my first custom water cooling for my cpu only(GPU later when I SLI) and I have been reading other posts for advice and got this list of items. I need someone to make sure all the stuff is compatible and if I am missing anything. I also don't know how many compression fittings to get. I am also going to look for cheaper prices so if you know where i should buy it from please tell me thank you.

You need more than 2 fittings. Every component I.E. Rads, blocks, reservoir, need two fittings. One to attach the tube coming in and one to attach the tube going out

Also get the mcp655 with G 1/4 fittings. You don't have compatible sizes for the pump and tubing. If you get the G1/4 version you will need two fittings for that as well.

I also recommend colored tubing if you go clear fluid. It will look better.

I don't know if you already have fan but you will need them for the radiator.

I would also recommend the 380I CPU block but the one you have is good too.

@DemonicKhmer

welcome to the Linus Tech Tips forums!

$400 for a simple CPU loop sounds a bit much. and since it is your first,

hedge your experience and not tie up a lot on bling and more for purpose.

and then once you look to including the GPU, then possibly approach bling

levels.

CPU block - awesome choice, but mighty pricey, the XSPC Raystorm is $50

radiator - what case are you using? some of the 280 rads use a weird older fan

spacing (20mm) and not all cases can use this spacing.

pump - what is selected is for 3/8" tubing as you have selected 1/2" (http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=59_201&products_id=3112)

or the G 1/4" modification:

(note: ***D5-PARTS made available in case you need to RMA the pump due to Swiftech's policy on pump modification.  It's recommended to have a stock housing "just in case" ***)

res - a big portion of the budget is eaten here, but you have to decide if it is "needed"

barb fittings - cmp fittings are awesome, but you'll need more than two and barbs

can fit the bill without busting the budget on the first time.

(usually, i'd suggest 7/16" tubing and 1/2" barbs so you won't need clamps)

fans - i don't see any?

tubing - 6' should do the job, but extra is always appreciated.

silver kill coil

your supermarket will have distilled water for $5 per gallon
