Welcome to the forum first of all

Secondly so we can help you refine and make the most of your budget why dont you give us a little more info?

What games do you play, what is the PC for etc etc?

But to stay on topic

The motherboard wont affect performance as long as it can feed the CPU enough power which all good board be it b650 b850 x670 or x870

All in all the x870 is a bit overkill and even a good b650 or the middle ground of a b850 will suffice and do more than enough

I edit my posts for so if you saw a typo.... no you didn't, you are just crazy

im building this desktop for the next good few years so i want to future proof, hence the motherboard

there is no concrete reason why i chose the x870 i got it recommended from a friend that builds PC's

the games i play vary widely, from ram heavy games such as factorio to skyrim (modded), and GTA 6 when it comes out

essentially im building the PC to be able to run anything i ask of it without question at highest or near highest settings

Yeeaaaah then I'd look into a cheaper mobo preferably b850 for gen 5 slots and spend the extra cash into more ram for mods and a better GPU like a 7900xtx if you dont care about raytracing (realistically you shouldnt but hey some do)

32 GB ram wont be enough?

and is my GPU pick not strong enough?

Mods tend to eat away at ram so ideally you'd want some more

As for GPU..... The one you chose is very overpriced and with the same money or less you can get a much better one for raw performance

IF you care about ray tracing then the choice Is fine but if you don't then I'd advise against the GPU you chose
