Hi, I recently bought a zephyrus g14 with an rtx 4060 and it was gaming really well with dlss on , after the dlss 4 update dropped and i switched my gpu to ultimate mode dlss just stopped working, basically it showed it was turned on in the game settings but i wasnt getting any fps increase, although i switched to preset k in cyberpunk and got it running at decent fps my fps in rdr 2 are horrible, I use the hardware unboxed settings on rdr 2 at 1600p and performance dlss but hardly get 60fps which constantly drop (even dropping the resolution to 1200p doesnt seem to have any uplift in fps) and in gta online the fps are always dropping to the mid 40s and i cant seem to find a fix. I have reinstalled the drivers and used apps such as dlss swapper

Are you serious? It's a 4060 in a laptop. Why do even bother with 1600p??

With DLSS and rdr 2 is 7 year old atp so yeah i think it can do 1600p, also it should run decently at 1200p but it isnt

RDR 2 is a very demanding game, and 4060 is a relatively weak GPU. HW doesn't work on will. Here's desktop 4060Ti performance, subtract 40-50% from it for laptop.

Even the desktop 4060 only gets 56fps at 1440p in RDR2, let alone a laptop 4060 at 1600p. RDR 2 is still not easy to run in 2025.

Buddy you want a car whose top speed is 100mph to run at 220mph basically

DLSS or not that mGPU is weak and wont give you satisfactory results in a game as demanding as RDR2

I edit my posts for so if you saw a typo.... no you didn't, you are just crazy

1200p or 1600p?

Anywho

That is not the issue

The issue is your mGPU is weak and wont give you satisfatctory results

Either you'll need a laptop with a better mGPU or be at peace with the fact you cant run it like you want and play other games

Isn't DLSS4 supposed to be "higher quality"?
