Just re-seated the CPU with no improvement, after examining the pins on the motherboard I believe I've found at least 1 pin that's bent (why are they so tiny, I can barely tell T-T)

Will wait to see if anyone else posts any ideas, otherwise will contact the store I bought the CPU and motherboard from tomorrow.

Both sticks of RAM work in the B2 slot individually so they work fine.

Thanks @Agall for the responses

If there was a pin that's noticeably different than the rest, then that's a problem. I'd suspect its the problem, that one pin that handles the A memory controller isn't getting contact and therefore isn't working properly.

Otherwise, CPU or motherboard fault, more likely motherboard, but I feel like a noticeably different pin is the most obvious problem here.

Hi,

I'm currently building a new pc with these specs:

Ryzen 7 9800x3D

TUF X870-Plus WIFi

Corsair vengeance 64GB (16x2) 6000MHz C30

I am unable to get the pc to post while 2 sticks of ram are within the slots, if I place 1 stick in the B2 slot the computer is able to post and I can get into windows.

Is someone able to assist in what I can do to get both sticks posting.

I've included some images of my issue such as it working with 1 stick, not working with 2 and the fact I've downloaded the latest bios.

Reseat the CPU, otherwise there's a hardware failure some where, most likely.

@Sawa Takahashi Also, check the motherboard's socket while you're at it, make sure there's not one pin that's messed up on the socket.

Because light is remarkably slow. It takes a nanosecond for it to travel a foot (shout out Grace Hopper)

If there was any bent pin in the motherboard, it is the best to try for a return / refund / exchange / RMA. You are entitled to a motherboard in perfect condition when buying new.

If you remember where that bent pin is located in the socket, you may consult this webpage and see what is the purpose of the bent pin : https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Socket_AM5_pinmap.svg

If you can't return the motherboard, you can always try to straighten the bent pin. Be very very cautious ! They are easy to bend and also to break. Use a magnifying glass (or a microscope) and the tip of an exacto (or sewing needle). Your motherboard warranty will certainly be void if you attempt that manipulation. Be sure to try alternatives first.

I totally agree. One bent pin can cause one critical system to malfunction.

Good luck !
