you only have to get into troubleshooting mode...

you can... crash your boot 3 times.. by shutting it down mid boot, it should automatically go in there then.

when you get in there run SFC /scannow command in troubleshooting mode cmd prompt.

Going into safe mode and Running the DISM commands and SFC /scannow did not resolve it, still getting this error:

Error: 0x800f081f

I used the windows installation media to install whilst keeping apps and files and that has now sorted everything. I didnt run it via the reboot (I tried and tried all the repair options/ rolling back windows updates, these things did not fix). Simply opening the file (while not in safe mode) and installing windows whilst retaining files and apps was the solution.

Hi All, Tried everything I can think of.

I am on a GPD win max 2 2021 or 2022 version. Windows 10: Version 22H2 (OS Build 19045.5487)

My start menu does not work when I hover over and click on it. my start menu does not work when i simply press the windows key.
Some windows functions work, for example Win+E or Win+L work fine but Win+D does not.

Other symptoms, being in Explorer, and right clicking "Properties" on this PC does not bring up anything.

I have restarted PC, restarted Explorer, updated AMD drivers, run commands like:
sfc /scannow
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

When I go to try and update, in control panel System and Security: Theres no mention of Windows update, Commands such as:ms-settings:windowsupdate dont start and give error: ms-settings:windowsupdate File system error (-2144927436).

Just Run Control Panel > System and Security > Security and Maintenance: Automatic Maintenance, Maintenance in progress. This has finished no change.

Any suggestions to save me the ball ache of reformatting.

Update, Im getting this now:

C:\Windows\system32>sfc /scannow

Beginning system scan. This process will take some time.

Beginning verification phase of system scan.
Verification 100% complete.

Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them.
For online repairs, details are included in the CBS log file located at
windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For offline
repairs, details are included in the log file provided by the /OFFLOGFILE flag.

You might have to involve external Windows media to repair your installation.

Just the installation media from here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 on a USB or is there a specific repair tool?
