Hi all,

I am finally getting back into gaming for the game Ultra Pro Wrestling which is set to release at the end of 2025.

I want to build a gaming PC specifically for this game alone, I don't have any real plans of playing other games (at this stage). I would love to play Ashes of Creation but who knows when that will even release.

Here are the recommended specs:

  • OS: 64-bit Windows 10

  • Processor: Intel I7 4790 or AMD FX-8350

  • Memory: 16 GB RAM

  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 / Radeon RX 580

  • DirectX: Version 11

  • Network: Broadband Internet connection

  • Storage: 40 GB available space

  • Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card

  • VR Support: no

I want an ITX build, but I was wondering are there any iGPUs (APUs?) that could run this flawlessly, or will I need a video card for my build? Should I just opt for a GPU just to be safe? Also, am I best to build for this game or should I go a bit more just in case I want to play other games.

If anyone can recommend builds for all options I would greatly appreciate it.

Kind regards,
Matt

Come back to us then and there would be ideal, unless if you want to build it now in which case, understandable. While ive been saying things shouldnt change significantly over weeks, over months we could be facing pretty complicated situation, or not. We wouldnt know.

Honestly 99% of the time iGPU is still not enough for modern titles on its own. If minimum spec is to be taken seriously though, we could possibly run this on Zen 5 G series chips. But trust me, for someone who has been following PC gaming for hot while, minimum and recommended specs are not to be taken seriously. See what people experience and then make your own judgement on how far you want in terms of performance target. You really should rather have an overbuilt system than an underbuilt one (to some extent, obviously.)

This is my MVP (Minimum Viable Product) for a well valued ITX build in 2025. But hey state your budget and location, and i might be able to show you better ones.

Thank you @SorryBella  your reply, I can't thank you enough! I have thought about what you said and have come back with more context and after researching and looking into gaming much more.

Basically, it's been a very long time since I have played video games (besides World of Warcraft which I no longer play), I actually really looked into any current or future games very thoroughly and I do not desire to play any other game then Ultra Pro Wrestling. I am 40 years old and just looking for a game I can play causally (or get into more if I love it) and just have fun. UPW is perfect for me and takes me back to the days of my favourite games of all time.

With that said, as I mentioned in my post I love ITX builds, and with the specs of this game they aren't over demanding. My build would be my normal, everyday PC plus to play UPW. Now knowing I will not be playing any other games, is it possible that an iGPU could run this game very well? I know you said you would always recommend a GPU, but I am trying to keep the cost of this down as much as possible.

Thank you so much, I appreciate any further advice.

You could consider waiting for the new AMD AI-300 (Strix Halo) labtops to launch. Rumors say that they should be on par with the 4070 but as always we have to wait for independent reviews to confirm that. They do sound promising though.

Otherwise, have you decided on some mITX cases you like? Recommending parts are hard without knowing which, since they have different limitations 🙂

mITX is awesome! I regret nothing (apart from when picking parts or have to do maintainance *cough*cough*)

Hey @DeerDK, yes I've heard those laptops will be insanely good and could be an option, although I am assuming they will be pretty expensive.

Yes, I was hoping to get the InWin Chopin, I love how small that case is. Any suggestions?

Yeah, it's not the bang for the buck option. But if you need to move it around a lot, it may be worth considering.

Is it the max version? I have trouble finding any solid data on it but it may be too small for any real gaming gpu. Like it may only have space for low profile gpus. I'm not sure though.

If you are open for other cases you can find some that can fit a dedicated gpu. Otherwise you may consider the Ryzen 8700g.

From what I've read it's currently the best solution for igpus, but it will be underpowered compared to dedicated gpus.

I forgot to mention the InWin Chopin does not support GPUs. Do you think the 8700G would run that game fine?

I will say it's your best bet. Unless you will consider a NR200p or something that can hold a dedicated gpu. It's not great though. It gets outperformed by an rx 6500 in this review:

https://www.techspot.com/review/2796-amd-ryzen-8700g/

And according to this gpu hierarchy, the 6500xt only performs 66% of a 1070. So it's not a good look. I'm sorry.

If your main purpose is to game, I would really recommend finding a case that can hold a 6600 or 7600xt gpu or something.

I guess this (or one of the configurations) could be your best solution if the price and potential wait doesn't scare you 🙂
