Hi,

I bought a new AIO and currently have the fans connected to CPU_FAN and the pump connected to CPU_OPT, since my motherboard doesn't have a CHA_PUMP or SYS_FAN_PUMP port (and my cable management is perfect like this lol)

I'm controlling the fan speeds with Fan Control, setting them to 30% until 50°C, then gradually increasing as the temperature rises, reaching 100% around 80°C.

AFAIK, CPU_OPT follows the CPU_FAN settings, so I guess my pump will run at the same speed that I set for the fans? Does that mean it will run at 30% when the CPU is idle?

I've heard all sorts of things about the ideal pump speed. Some say it should always run at 100%, while others say any speed is fine.

My 7800X3D's temperatures seem fine : around 38-42°C at idle, and 50-60°C when gaming.

Whatever you have it now seems to be working well 🙂

Your temperatures are great!

I always recommend setting the AIO Pump speed to one constant somewhat higher speed like 70% constant.

This is because ramping up and down constantly actually creates more wear on the pump compared to a constant speed.

How much this improve the lifespan I dont know, in all honesty I don't really think it matters.

Welcome to the forums!
Which header you use usually pretty much doesn't matter except for personal preference. At least on modern platforms. It just changes the label your software sees
