Not sure if this is the right category to post this, but I am looking for help with optimizing the sound from my rig.

Running a 6800k with a 1tb toshiba and 120gb ocz vertex iii

antec kuhler h20 620

I just picked up a nzxt h20 because i thought my fractal core 1000 was just too loud. I do some video recording and I am having to pull the audio out and get rid of the background noise and then edit it back into the video. I want to reduce the noise my rig is making but I cant get it much lower than  40 dba. I always here people talking about silence optimizing there systems but not how to do it. I have my fans running low but that hasn't seemed to fix the problem.

What else can I do to quiet my system?

.

Acousti-pack, watercooling, turn your fans off if you aren't doing anything. Only the fan on my h100i spins when I'm idle.

I appreciate your post, but please read my post in its entirety before you comment. The h20 has sound dampening padding. The antec 620 is a watercooler and it doesn't have software to control the fans.

plug all of your fans into a fan controller than can go from 0-12v

I'm essentially doing this right now with every fan except the gpu.

If you are just recording audio/video, there's really no reason why your computer needs to have any of its fans on.  As long as you have a beefy heatsink on your cpu you're not going to harm anything

What's a NZXT H20?

Which parts of the system are loud?

I opened it up and front fans, gpu, and radiator were all around 45-50 dba. But my guess is the radiator fan is what is making all the noise. Don't have a way to regulate it.

Stop the fans with your hand and figure out which parts are loud.

Get a fan controller that allows for the fans to be completely turned off and leave all your case fans off when going the recording.

Also get rid of the AIO as the

Pump noise will always be there and replace it with an aircooler.

So i tested all the fans and none of them seemed to be carrying the sound. My guess: hdd. Did replace the aio with a hyper 212 plus i had laying around. Did get a few dba quieter but not much. Reading Anandtechs review on this case I don't believe I'll be able to get much more. I might put the aio back in but this time to cool my 580 w/ a kraken g10. I dont know anymore.

Change your fans, you can get your

Pc silent it doesn't really matter on the case. I have a NZXT phantom 410 and it's absolutly silent the loudest component is the HDD. so yeah just swap all the fans for silent fans, keep the EVO and get a fan controller.
