Hello, I'm planning to upgrade my PC. Currently the exact budget is around 530usd. the problem is, when making the PC a year or so ago, upgradeability wasn't considered. BOL a520m msi board and 500w psu, worst stock amd cooler. I think, sadly more then half of the PC is going to be sold. I think ill be able to get A bit of money back. About that, how should I go about selling the parts? Make a new PC with all my old parts, or just sell them like that? I can give details if needed. Please tell me more about it! my bday is also coming up will get about 150 usd extra? should i wait, what do i do

Tell us all your system specs so we can know how to proceed with upgrades.

Be as specific as possible.

i could get a new one for a better deal, but did you read the rest? i need a new mobo, psu and cooler then those.

Why do you need a new mobo? That will support a 5000 series with a BIOS update. And 500W should be enough to run the new CPU. As for a cooler, sure, get a phantom for 35$

Fair, but if you wanna upgrade everything it's gonna cost more than the 680$ you'll have after your birthday. Could do CPU, cooler, PSU, mobo now and stack cash for a decent GPU upgrade down the line.

Best of luck with that. I wouldn't pay much more than 200$ for that and given your own feelings on the build, isn't it a bit immoral to try selling it as a gaming PC?

yeah but the main problem im seeing is the gpu. This mobo has horrible VRMs and i wouldnt want it

5700x3d doesn't need super vrm.  It doesn't use much power.

Not sure where you read that your parts are super suck ass pieces of shit.

I use a stock and cooler on a 5600x3d without issue .

Granted, your GPU is weak but that PSU can support a 6650xt or Intel b580.

Not sure id write off the entire PC.

Hell, just a 5600 plus 6650xt and you're in fat city.

Yep, maybe more ram and storage as well.  But you can build on what you have.

Something like this ...

What games are you playing and what kind of monitor are you running? I don't see anything wrong with that motherboard. If you are only pushing out to a 60hz monitor, something like this is at your budget and would run anything just fine

Still workable? Don't eat the consumerism spiral, whether that's your own research or your peers that tells you that. Your system can still be upgraded without replacing the motherboard and to me personally thats the bar where i want to build a new system. It should be your bar too, reduce and reuse is the first 2 for a good reason.

Keep using the current CPU cooler. 5600X doesnt come with coolers. This would provide you with a very noticeable bump on performance.

Market will shift if its not within this February. Make a new thread and ask us later if thats the case. If not, add in a PSU and cooler with that plan, to increase reliability, but also swap for 2TB SSD. quadruple storage, yum.
