So if any of you watch Markiplier or someone of the like then you will notice the style of their avatars...I am wondering how they make their avatars and banners (I know through Adobe Photoshop) but how exactly? 

Now, you know what you can expect from these barbarians. They are a race of rabid BASTARDS that will fight us tooth and nail! But they don't know what they're up against. Cyrodiil, is CIVILIZATION! Cyrodiil, is ORDER! Cyrodiil is POWER! And out here, WE. ARE. CYRODIIL.

They pay artists to do it.

I'm not paying someone to do it I want to learn how to do it myself

Search for how to use vectors in photoshop tutorials, you can start there.
