New build - random freezes

Go to solution Solved by leclod,

One thing you could do is check your Ram with Memtest86

You could reinstall the latest USB driver

I get random restarts or freezes on my new pc. Most of the time on idle, sometimes while working or gaming.

I get minidump files but for the last few I don´t have the access right to open them or even zip or attach them here otherwise so I have attached an old one.

System:

AMD Ryzen 9 5900X

ASUS TUF Gaming B550-PLUS WiFi II

Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x32GB

Gigabyte Radeon RX7600XT

Samsung 990 EVO Plus 2TB

Seagate Barracuda 4TB

Farboko USB C PCIE card

Corsair RM650 80 Plus gold

Bios is up to date (3611)

All drivers are up to date.

The issue seems to be the Asus Asmedia USB driver.

I have exhausted my limited abilities to troubleshoot so I hope someone here can help me to find out what I could try next.

Thanks a lot

Christoph

I have let it run now for 2 passes without errors, maybe I can let it run the full four passes over night, it takes really long.

The asmthub3 drivers I have are 1.16.41.3 Windows does not update them further and I tried SDI also but it also does not update them.

After some search I found the latest version  1.16.61.1 and downloaded them from the microsoft update catalog but I can not update them either.

Did you check the Asus motherboard support page for drivers ?

Yes I also have armoury crate installed and it also says that the drivers are up to date.

But I found the issue... and feel a little bit stupid.

I thought it must be the motherboard because when I googled the driver name I only found motherboard related entries.

But when checking for the drivers now I found out that its a USB C driver and then I checked the PCIE card. And in the middle of the text on the amazon page it says that the card does not work under Win11.

I removed it now and the asmthub controllers are gone. I guess I will not use my front panel USB C then...

But thank you a lot for the hints!
