I've made a couple of other threads where I continued to have ideas and scrap them off again and again lol.

However, I managed to slightly raise the budget and I'm currently almost set on this. Looking for final opinions.

You might notice that there is no case, I'll probably be picking one off a nearby computer shop for cheap lol.

Also, I'm upgrading off a Pentium Dual Core with 2GB of DDR2 RAM and a Nvidia GeForce 7000 series card (yeah.). Location is UAE, and buying stuff mostly from www.gear-up.me

Looks good. lol I was looking at one of my own lists.

EDIT: Looks good. I'd just get this card instead: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/sapphire-video-card-100370l, it has a better cooler and is the same price.

Well I was going to do that. Until someone recommended against using it with a mATX case, since it's a somewhat long card.

The one in the MSI one seems to be a bit weak but it will depend on the case you get, if the sapphire one fits get that one.

Actually the MSI card is longer than the Sapphire, due to it's longer PCB. They are equal in width and height.

MSI: 35 x 109 x 228 mm

Sapphire:  35 x 109 x 210 mm

So you should defenetly get the Sapphire!

Edit:

Especially if you are using a small case the additional cooling performance helps a lot!

And don't worry about the 30MHz less. They won't make any difference and you can still go ahead and add them by yourself!

  • 2 weeks later...

Just another question. The Sapphire website states that the R7 265 requires a 500 watt PSU: http://www.sapphiretech.com/presentation/product/?cid=1&gid=3&sgid=1226&pid=2201&lid=1#.

I was however set on CX 430, as I heard it would do. Now my question is, would it?

Yes, but I don't know how to explain it.

The CX 430 should really do, but if you want to be completely sure just get the cx 500, it's really just a few bucks more.

Yeah you can go with this. FSP is a big PSU manifacturer and many other manifactureres let FSP produce their PSUs (for example the new Bitfenix PSUs).

So for some reason, I can no longer access PCPartPicker. I'd like to lay down what I've decided for so far...

CPU - i3-4130

MB - MSI H81M-P33

GPU - Sapphire Radeon R7 265

RAM - Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB

HDD - Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7200rpm

PSU - FSP500-60GHN 80+ Bronze

Any compatibility issues? Also I have some doubts about the motherboard.

I strongly suggest an R9 270 over the R7 265... it's not even really much more expensive. Newegg has a Sapphire one for $153 shipped after rebate: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202090&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

The thing is, I don't live in the States. Over here in the UAE, The R9 270 costs more than 100 AED more than the R7 265, which is too much...

My bad, brain farted and thought you'd linked to newegg. Sometimes it seems like there could be a market for smuggling pc parts from the US to other places haha.

Well the mainboard is really nothing special at all, but it will work.

It helps to read the previous posts before repliing. He doens't live in the US and a R9 270X is way too expensive where he lives.

For the same price as your current RAM you can get a little faster and better quality RAM.
