So i've been doing everything left and right to try and get my graphics card back to its full power once again and installed fresh everything onto my system i changed it to a different mother board and the mother board or ram or anything is no issue cause i tested it out on three different machines and they all didnt properly use my card the issue is it gives me a not responding and has recovered on windows 7 so i thought okay maybe its just a bug with the os and the graphics card let me test out a different os and like wise i tried window 86 and 64 as well as windows 8 and 8.1 86 and 64 then as all hope was lost i went to xp and good ol' xp has my back and it worked now the thing is stops but comes back i can watch videos and a couple things but i can't play games so i decided to disassemble my graphics card and lone behold the thermal pads on the ram i believe were completely almost bare as well as the thermal paste was cruddy so i'm wondering now if i should replace all of this with thermal paste or is it a must to use thermal pads for the ram parts if so were can i get some ? and also what is a decent thermal paste for the actually processor for the graphics card? i'm using an msi n9800gtx. it's my first card so bare with me lol. i would really appreciate any help thank you very much.

alright thanks guys so thermal pads are a must for the ram

and the gpu i'll look into that thermal paste thanks.

do you guys believe it's this that causes the issue of the not responding or could it be something else ?

why dont u do the following, download some program like gpu-z and monitor ur gpu temperature just to make sure that what ever u are going to do is worth it.

I don't think it's heat related. If the card isn't working on 3 different motherboards and you get the "driver recovered" thing it's usually because there is some problem with power or graphics ram. You could try looking for a bios for that gpu and reflashing it. If that doesn't work you guys should part ways, that is a kinda old gpu xD

I do not recommend flashing a new video card firmware, unless you really know what you are doing. It can mess up the card completely.

Replace the paste/pads, then monitor the temperatures. If there are still problems, we can investigate further.
