Is there any reason to go intel right now?
I need another office pc for work and the only requirements are:
latest generation/socket
cheap as possible
must have two ethernets and wifi

no storage, already have a spare m.2 nvme

I'm between these two builds
AMD https://pcpartpicker.com/list/3RN44p

Intel https://pcpartpicker.com/list/P9j974

$90 difference, but if I go with the ryzen 8400G, it is a massive difference although a little cheaty.
I also may look at other options for windows, but whatever license I buy needs to survive a os wipe or a transfer to a replacement pc/component if needed.

There are other means of getting windows, no need to spend 140 on it.  Intel is better for productivity, so I recommend that. The 8400g does not have much raw power compared to the 245k. You might want faster ram, but the build is looking good!

Make sure to mark solutions, as it helps us find people who need help faster. Thanks!

I am human and am therefore prone to error, so I apologize if I make mistakes and I hope you understand.

Have a Nice Day!

"I need office PC"

Intel list: 14-core CPU

"Office huh?"

You don't want Seasonic 12 though.

MSI MAG A550BN

MSI MAG A650BE

ADATA XPG KYBER

What does "office PC" mean? Word, Excel, etc.?

Or is it more advanced "office PC" that uses more demanding programs like Photoshop for example?

Feel free: To ask any question, no matter what question it is, I will try to answer. I know a lot about PCs but not everything.

current PC:

Ryzen 5 5600 |16GB DDR4 3200Mhz | B450 | GTX 1080 ti [further details on my profile]

PC configs I used before:

  1. Pentium G4500 | 4GB/8GB DDR4 2133Mhz | H110 | GTX 1050
  2. Ryzen 3 1200 3,5Ghz / OC:4Ghz | 8GB DDR4 2133Mhz / 16GB 3200Mhz | B450 | GTX 1050

the intel cpu looks like its a 6 core with 8 cell phone cpus glued to the side, so it looks comparable to the amd 6 core cpu to me.
It's more thats the lowest tier new cpu they make so it's the only choice.

Office pc as in any issues it has directly result in support tickets i have to deal with, so something normal and a bit fast is preferred.
it also is projected to get used for 8 years, so buying the absolute newest gen is critical in that happening. buying a 2-3 year old cpu just means the pc will last 2-3 years less, its a waste of money usually.
its used for like quickbooks and some vendor specific inventory/erp software.

Well, if the iGPU only needs to display the screen and the apps and doesn't really get any "work", then:

Buying separate DDR5 memory sticks runs a risk that they will not run in dual channel mode.

The Seasonic S12III is Tier E (Avoid). It is missing some important power protections.

Current gen Intel are better at the lower end for productivity / office use cases.

It's just been released so it may take a few weeks to appear with merchants.
