SSD Raid Boot

I will be Raiding two Samsung 840 Evo 120GB SSD's in Raid 0 as the boot drive for my build, do I need to enable ahci mode? Or can i just create the raid volume and load up and install win 7. (I have the Raid drivers from gigabyte's website). My motherboard is the:

Gigabyte AM3+ AMD 970 SATA 6Gbps USB 3.0 ATX DDR3 1800 AMD Motherboard GA-970A-UD3P

You can install OS on a Raid drive as boot-able. It shouldn't require to install drivers installing OS on raid. But make sure to remove your other drives, Windows sometimes likes to write some of it's files or start up partition on other drives.

I don't think AHCI = Raid. Not when you are going for raid 0. And you can't enable AHCI when you are using Raid 0 or any raid for that matter, although you won't need it with the speeds you are getting.
