Runtime error 53 when using Microsoft Office

I've run in to this error on my spouse's mac for nearly a decade now and it seems neither Microsoft or Adobe are taking responsibility for this and it seems will never be solved.  I've read in various posts that Adobe says it's a Microsoft issue and Microsoft says it's an Adobe issue.

 

Perhaps if someone at one of these companies were made aware at how much of a problem this is they could fix it? Maybe someone could make a video?

Other than that, yeah, it's an Adobe issue, since they're the ones developing the add-in that hooks into Office. It's up to them to fix it.
