Hi, i have a ps5 that I am trying to use with my Xiaomi TV. The TV is 4k but it is not taking any display input from 4K capable devices. I keep getting this weird black screen flickering behaviour where the screen keeps on going in and out of the input selection cycle.
Just to be sure that it wasn't a problem with my ps5, i connected my macbook air using a hdmi dongle to the TV and the same issue happened again. It started a flickering behaviour.
Whenever i connect my ps5 to it, i  can hear the system sounds but i donot get the display output. I have attached videos. I think it might be something to do with HDCP not working properly.
I should add that I did have to get this TV repaired last year as it had fried the motherboard and the repair was under warranty, now the warranty is expired 😞 . When i connect my Nintendo Switch, it works perfectly fine with all 3 HDMI ports but i can't get the PS5 to work at all.

Pls help🥲

Welcome to the forums!
Have you tried a new cable?
My guess is that the cable is just not capable of carrying a 4k60 signal and the reason the switch is fine is that it's only putting out a 1080p60 signal

I did try different cables. It still didn't work.

I assume that you don't see this behavior when navigating the built in stuff, right?

No i dont see any weird behaviour, although it is a very slow tv. I did find out that when the ps5 flickering issue happens, the tv tries to automatically switch the picture mode to GAME mode. And it does that again and again.
The weird thing is that when i looked through the picture settings, i couldn't find a dedicated picture mode for gaming. It only had four options: Standard, Vivid, Sport and Movie.

Sounds to me like maybe it's not getting a clean signal when going up to 4K60. I'm wondering if the cables you are using aren't rated for 4K60. Was this an issue before the warranty repair? Also, have you set the HDMI ports to Enhanced Format (I'm not sure if that's a universal term, I have a Hisense with Google TV)? For whatever reason most TVs seem to ship with the HMDI ports set to Standard Format.

Also, try digging into your settings more. Game mode might be in a different spot. One thing I would also try is turning EVERYTHING you can off. No filmmaker mode, no HDR, no frame interpolation/motion smoothing, etc. Disable whatever automatic stuff you can and set everything to the most basic settings. You may want to hook up the PS5 to another screen and disable HDR and VRR as well. If it works after disabling everything, then try turning things back on one by one to see what's causing the issue.

Assuming you don't see this behavior when you're plugging the devices into other displays, there is either a problem between the device and the tv, or with the TV itself.
The cheap and easy way to test is getting a nice, known good HDMI cable and testing with that. If it doesn't fix the problem, then you have an issue with the TV itself. Wouldn't hurt to spray it out with som CRC contact cleaner (while the TV is OFF and ideally unplugged, that stuff is flamey if you ignite it. Don't learn it the hard way like I did when I was cleaning my kitchen torch) then blow out with compressed air. If that doesn't fix it, you have a broken display and should RMA ASAP

I appreciate your reply. I think the problem is with the motherboard as the xiaomi service center guy said that this is the first time he’s seen this problem. Even he is baffled. He tried factory reset and it still didn’t work.

Also the tv stopped working with my Nintendo switch too.
the tv model is the xiaomi 5x 4K tv

And you've tried a new, high quality cable? If so, yeah, get it serviced
