My pc has had this problem where it randomly completely freezes and never recovers ever since i built it in 2022. It seems to crash more often during processor intense tasks after about 30 - 90 min and it's almost as I need to give it a "cooldown", if I try to start it right back up and resume my work it does it again after only a couple of mins. Temps are not the issue as both the CPU, GPU and VRM are well below their specified maximum. The event viewer is not to any help either as it only gives me the critical error "Kernel-Power-41". "Kernel-processor-power" is only listed as a "Warning".

Specs are:

I5-12600KF

Deepcool GAMMAXX L240

MSI Tomahawk B760 DDR5        ( Previously Gigabyte AERO Z690 DDR5 )

Kingston FURY Beast 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR5-5200

WDC PC SN530 SDBPNPZ-256G

Asus STRIX GAMING OC GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER 8 GB

Corsair RM750e        ( Previously RM750x )

I earlier suspected that it was either the motherboard or PSU and had them changed out, which did not solve the issue. I have also tried borrowing RAM-sticks but to no effect. I have tried both Windows 10 & 11 and reinstalled both multiple times. The boot drive is not showing any issues in CrystalDiskInfo either. The BIOS has both been updated and reset.

I am really lost in what the issue can be, all help is appreciated.

I have never seen a KP41 event be anything below a Critical...
When everything freezes, what exactly is going on? Fans still spin? Video on screen? Wired keyboard lights/mouse laser still lit? Audio? Or is it straight powering off?

It crashing and *staying* crashed for a while points me to a thermal issue. I'd have recommended reseating the CPU, but you've swapped mobos already, did you also do new thermal paste when you did? Where are you pulling your temps from? HWMonitor/Info? And are you checking while trying to trigger a crash? Can you also check the AIO's RPM? I'm a bit suspicious that it might be sputtering out.
I'd load up Prime95 or Cinebench on a loop and run HWInfo logging to file. Watch your CPU temps and pump RPM to make sure they're staying put and not bouncing all over
There is a chance that the 2070 is dying, or just overheating (6 year old card, probably due for a repasting, but you're saying you're pretty sure it's not temps and not GPU load.

First of all, thanks for responding!

When the pc "crashes" everything is still on, whatever is on the screen freezes, fans are both illuminated and spinning, as well as the mouse and keyboard. The audio disappears tho. You mention my GPU needing a repaste, which i have already done as well as changing the thermal paste on the cpu when i changed mobos. I usually monitor the temps thought the Nvidia overlay, but i have previously also used the overlay included with MSI afterburner. (Nothing is overclocked, i use afterburner for custom fan curves. And as the GPU is bottlenecking the cpu (I run 1440p) i rarely get any higher temps than 45° as the CPU rarely has a load of over 50%. And it idles at about 27°. For the GPU its usually 72° during load and 39° at idle.

You actually gave me an idea, as the "crashes" usually intensifies during more processor intense games. For example HOI4 and CS:GO. However it doesn't do that when running CS2, which is more of a GPU intense game.

I can try to monitor the temps during Cinebench to exclude the AIO as a problem. But do you think it is possible for the cpu to have a defect?

Intel didn't bung up the 12th gen like they did 13th and 14th gens. I'd suspect the GPU more than the CPU. My guess is a dying GPU. Especially given the fact you already replaced the mobo and the PSU. Do you have a UPS?

No, i don't have an UPS.

I've now tried to run Cinebench on both multi- and single-core and the temps are not even near alarming as they topped out on 58°. Nothing crashed or froze either.

I can borrow a GPU and try it but that may take a couple of days. However, in the meanwhile I can try another outlet. I doubt that it's the outlet that is causing the issues as the crashes aren't really regular. Because i do not recall any instances the PC froze during a GPU intense task, like for example War Thunder.

Hmmm.
Okay, I can't believe I didn't recommend this before. Do a DDU. A freeze sill sounds like it's a GPU issue. Be sure to follow all instructions closely including not being connected to the internet during the process (predownload the NV drivers)
