My motherboard supports an 8 pin and a 4 pin for cpu power, I bought some cable extensions and it came with only one cable for the cpu. Will there be any difference in performance with only one 8 pin cable instead of an 8 pin and a 4 pin??

What CPU are you using?聽聽 Usually no 馃檪聽 I have never used more than a single 8 pin CPU power cable. Its rated for a continous 226w of power.

I have a ryzen 7 7700x

Oh then a single 8pin CPU power cable is plenty enough.

The 7700x maxes out at 120w with PBO enabled so you have 100w left of power from that cable 馃槃

I only use a single 8pin with my own 7700x.

You could in theory run two 7700x of one cable.
