yea these are real, theyre just refurb drives. bought these kinds of drives a couple times, it's fine.

Lemme break it down for you then:
1. The warranty they are saying most likely is store warranty, not Seagate Indonesia's. That means if shit happens, you claim to the store, Seagate will outright reject your unit. What this also mean is: If the store one day decide to "fuck all y'all", there goes your warranty. Usually also means that if they no longer have stock of said item (the slashed price one), there goes your warranty, unless you are okay with it being replaced by shittier unit.

 

2. That kinda "marketing" is iffy, since they are saying 7200/5400 RPM on the pic, that can mean they will either send you 7200RPM one or 5400RPM one. If you actually want the 7200RPM one, at least send a message to the store asking if they will really send 7200RPM one, and make sure they reply clearly about it. So that you can claim return policy on Tokopedia if they send you 5400, with that chat as a proof.

 

3. The warranty policy on the item is also bleh, usual typical Indonesian seller shit (Though to be fair, it's often enabled by Indonesian buyer themselves)

(For those of you that doesn't understand indonesian), basically :

- Warranty void if you don't give positive review/rating

- Warranty void if you give negative review/rating

To me this kinda shit further empowered point #1 above.

Plus... what's with the need to force people to the point of taking hostage (Your warranty is the hostage) if you the seller believe/know your item & service is fine.

 

4. There is also contradictory information about the warranty period. The pic says 1 year, the product detail says both 2 years and 1 year.
If you intend to buy it, please make sure through chat with them.

Whether or not the one you linked refurbed by Seagate international or by a third party that has no affiliation with Seagate, idk.

Nor whether or not it's a refurb instead of a "tweaked" item.

If you still wanna buy it, that's up to you.

But know that there will be risk, it's price being around 1/3 of a new Seagate Indonesia's one should already be an obvious sign of it.

 

Me personally, I'd rather buy from other store even if I have to spend more, at the very least for this reason below :
I'd rather not enable or support stores that forces people to give good review by taking hostage part of or all of the shit I buy. Because if enough people enables that kinda practice, soon enough it will become the norm, and I will be the one screwed over too in the end.
