Some people might freak out that I don't have a K version of the CPU included. But that is $40 bucks more, and because I don't choose to pay the money for the K I can get the CPU quiet and cool using the Hyper 212 EVO.
The Z97 board is for future upgrades and the fact that it supports higher clocked RAM.
The SSD is for the speed and the 2 TB drive for the extra space. You can get this down to 1 TB and then fit in another monitor to squeeze the budget.
GTX 780 ti, best card you could afford, and the Keyboard because it is really nice and the mouse for the same reason.

Honestly I don't know, he just want's me to build him something ridiculous with features he probably won't use just because he might want to learn them someday. He's been using a potato laptop for quite a while but now he just wants something crazy because he can afford it.

If he does 3D, follow the build I posted above, if he does do photo editing and such, he could change up to an i7 4930K and drop the graphics card.

Thanks I'll talk to him more over the next few weeks to pin down exactly what he wants but I really like the recommendations.

Like he said, we cant really build 1 unless we know exactly what the system is being used for. Professional 3D rendering etc require a different kind of graphic card, while gaming and general use will use a different setting, the build up there from Erika is pretty good for that.
