Games: slight racing games like NFS unbound, adventure games like uncharted & emulator based games like PoKeMoN Scarlett

 

CPU - Ryzen 9 9900X

GPU - RX 7800XT

Motherboard - MSI B650M Gaming Plus WiFi

RAM - 32GBx4

 

 

STORAGE - I need 2TB NVME x 2 on my motherboard.  I have a lot of personal data stored in my 2 TB HDD, I don't like to use cloud.

 

2TB SSD x 4 with a raid setup(I know what raid is but I dont know how to set it up)

 

Is Samsung worth the high price or should I stick with the budget friendly for the long term?

 

What else should I look for in an SSD or NVME?

 

Let me know if you have any good options

RAID is not backup. 

 

Is there a reason you want 4x2TB SSD RAID rather fewer larger drives?

 

Are the 2x2TB NVMe to be in a RAID array.

RAID is not backup but atleast its safer than nothing

 

Its just some personal photos videos and some office files

I dont feel like investing a lot to save something thats not so very significant

 

I am planning the 4x2TB SSD RAID for future proofing for the next 5-8years

At this point 3TB is more than enough for my existing in HDD

 

 

One of my HDD failed & I am unable to recover it

So I feel RAID with SSD is faster & convenient

 

The NVME are not in RAID its just for the applications games and some files that I work with on regular basis

For the SATA I would suggest 2x4TB SSD in a RAID 1 array. It's a bit more expensive than 4x2TB, but has half the units which reduces the failure points.

 

The important difference in NVMe drives is performance. Inexpensive PCIe 4.0 have lower raw performance. 

 

Consider getting an inexpensive external HDD for backups.
