CPU - Ryzen 9 9900X

GPU - RX 7800XT

Motherboard - MSI B650M Gaming Plus WiFi

 

RAM Requirements - 32GBx4

 

How much difference do CL30 or CL32 or CL40 make in reality?

 

Is DDR5 really necessary for future proofing the next 5 years? Can I take a bite now buy getting DDR4 at half the price of DDR5 & upgrade after a couple of years if necessary?

 

Are there any White RAM?

 

What are some good non-RGB RAMs for my build?

CL30 to CL32, not much if anything.  CL30 to CL40, you might see a few % difference but nothing major.

 

Please do not use 4 sticks of DDR5 on a AM5 based system, getting it to even boot might be a problem.. let alone run it at EXPO /XMP speeds.

AM5 absolutely HATES 4 sticks.

This is why we have started seeing 2x48GB sticks.  Get 2x48 or 2x64.

AM5 / Ryzen 9900x can ONLY use DDR5. You can not use DDR4 with this system.

6000 Mhz is still the sweetspot

Be aware that some DDR5 are very tall so if you are going with a large air cooler it might interfere with the front fan.

I am thinking of Noctua NH D15 or Thermalright peerless Assassin

 

I am not interested in RGB RAMs but would appreciate a white RAM
