Hello!

Basic story:

I have a gigabyte b450 aorus elite v2 motherboard with a ryzen 5 1600af and I wanted to upgrade my CPU with a ryzen 7 5700.

Did the upgrade, pc was working fine for 2 hours (tested the CPU with gaming and youtube) max temp was 63°C.

After 2 hours I got a black screen while the pc was running still.

I restarted the pc and nothing.

I checked out the pc and I found that the CPU debug light was on.

Tried varius fixes for it but nothing worked.(removing CMOS battery for 10 min, switching back to the old CPU, removing all RAM sticks except 1)

I thought I needed to do a bios update but the motherboard already had ryzen 5000 series compatible bios.

And now I have run into a wall.

Can someone help me out here?

You sure ?

I thought it could be a psu replace

definitely not the psu

board is just dead and yeah nothing you can really do about it other than return and replace

btw is that a 5700x or a 5700 non x? the latter is a 5700g with a disabled igpu so if the 5700x isnt that much more then might aswell return it get a 5700x

what about the 5700x?

5600x usually has shit pricing so not really worth considering esp if its near 5700x pricing

In Hungary:

5600X is 120 usd

And both 5700 and 5700x is 150 usd now

When i bought the 5700 the x variant was 170usd
