New computer with audio issues.

So new setup just the other day with windows 11 which after 3 days i want to burn it...

Basically here's my issue.

I run 7.1, no issues at all on windows 10 previously.
Same soundcard used on the new setup as well which worked fine on my win10 setup.

first issue i'm having, static sound playing through the speakers on the onboard audio, i've gone through and unplugged and re plugged every component to try and find what's making the noise without any luck.
Also the static only starts when windows loads, not in the bios, not while it's loading.
Only when it gets to the point where it starts logging in.

Given up with that and moved over to my soundcard anyway.
rather than stuff around with the onboard i just decided well my soundcard worked so i'll keep using it.

Installed it and my first problem was toggling full range speakers.
I kept turning it off but windows keeps overriding it and re enabling it...

But that's not the worst issue..

my 7.1 surround isn't working correctly.
Now yes i did try and install there stupid dolby program which i didn't have on win10
That didn't help.
I've checked to make sure the spacial audio is off and it is.

Now, on the desktop, discord and spotify.
7.1 works perfectly fine, no issues.

Google chrome and youtube, only output to the front left and front right channel.
No other speakers or the sub, un usable basically.

Games and movies, only output to the speakers, not the centre or sub.
Again, un usable.

I've been scratching my head for the past 2 days with un usable audio.
I've seen other people complain about surround sound issues on windows 11 as well but no helpfull answers so far.

Just wondering if anyone in here can shed some light on the issue or if i'm better just going back to windows 10 that works...

Windows 11 is a [insert your choice of expletive here]. I finally had to partially switch last week when I replaced my laptop and am just now *almost* done cleansing Microsoft's filth from it.

As far as your issue, If you didn't already make sure to download fresh drivers from the Sound Card manufacturers website. Don't trust Windows update to identify and install Onboard / PCIe Hardware correctly. Even Windows 10 has trouble with that. Also, I do mean just the drivers, not other manufacturer software.

Also do the same thing for your motherboard manufacturer and any other devices you have.

Gigabyte software thankfully found all my drivers for me. Gigabytes motherboard software is smarter than windows update hahaha

Got all the software and everything is up to date.

Currently just given up completely and using my sound card and 7.1 system as a stereo setup and hope that i find a fix soon.

Pretty pethetic that somehow in windows 11 they'ved fcked it up and not rectified it.
