Thanks.

I'd like some feedback on this early build:

PCPartPicker Part List: https://se.pcpartpicker.com/list/g348rM

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600 3.5 GHz 6-Core Processor  (kr1183.00 @ Computersalg)
Motherboard: Gigabyte B550M DS3H Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard  (kr1020.48 @ Amazon Sweden)
Memory: G.Skill Aegis 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory  (kr327.00 @ Amazon Sweden)
Memory: G.Skill Aegis 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory  (kr327.00 @ Amazon Sweden)
Video Card: ASRock Challenger OC Arc B580 12 GB Video Card  (kr3729.00 @ Webhallen)
Case: Montech AIR 100 ARGB MicroATX Mid Tower Case  (kr808.00 @ Proshop)
Power Supply: MSI MAG A650BN 650 W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply  (kr728.40 @ Amazon Sweden)
Total: kr8122.88

Note: I already have enough storage on my latest potato-for-pc.

If there is anything really out of order please let me know!

Everything here looks pretty decent!  I would recommend 2x16GB sticks instead of 4.  Sometimes there are more complications with 4 sticks.

Rest looks great, the MSI PSU is a decent reliable budget option 🙂

What cpu works well with the new b580?

Would the ryzen 5 5600x work?

If not, please give me some options.

Thanks in advance!

The Ryzen 5600x would work very well with the Intel B580 🙂

Actually quite a balanced system.

It would work fine. Although I would recommend a 7600 instead if you can afford it.

8400f + b580 + 32gb 6400c32

abit extra goes a long way which means no need to spend on a mobo ram or even cooler upgrade later down the line when you want to upgrade the cpu

8400f are 1360 on aliexpress with no cooler but you can get a much better cooler compared to not buying it off aliexpress and yes itll destroy the 5600 performance wise, but if you dont buy it off aliexpress thats fine as its already pretty cheap albiet future cpu upgrades will need a better cooler but those arent too expensive as ive shown with the cooler choice

That can be quite expensive for the 8400f.

In Sweden you have to pay customs fee if your order is more than 1600 Swedish KR.

With the shipping + 25% VAT tax you are looknig at over 1600SEK so you have to pay customs fee on top of that.

I realised there was no ARGB support on the motherboard i chose (i think).

Would the B550M ARGB work instead?

Would there be any noticeable changes or performance losses?

Also, should i consider a higher performance cpu like he said? I still have a bit of budget left.

the aliexpress price apparently includes VAT if you check the link so i guess that explains why it isnt significantly cheaper than buying it normally

and it is sub 1600

I'm probably getting the gpu for christmas.

So my budget with the rest of the specs is about 5-6000 sek.

Note: I have an hdd and an ssd which i would like to keep. room for upgrades aswell.

For short: A motherboard with ARGB support and preferably a sata hdd connection and 2 or more ssd slots.

Here's the new build:

Motherboard: Asus PRIME B550M-K ARGB Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard

This has everything i need and more, is cpu cooling a necessity? Or doesn't the ryzen cpu's come with a stock one?

The 5600X comes with a stock cooler indeed 🙂

This is a pretty decent list.

Any improvements i could make since i still have some room in my budget?

How much room?  This is 7400 Sek, whats the max budget?

I dont think there is much to upgrade here without spending more like on a 5700X3D or faster GPU . Maybe a better motherboard in terms of VRM cooling but thats about it.

I don't think i mentioned this,

I can swap out everything except the gpu since it's on my christmas wishlist. If i don't get it, i'll just buy it myself.

The rest is ~4000kr. About 1-2k sek to spare within my budget..

That's probably my highest budget.

I will admit that I don't like ultra cheap motherboards.

I would like to see a little upgrade to maybe something like this.

Its overkill for the 5600X but you might want to put a 5700X3D in it later to give your PC some more life.

Its overkill for the 5700X3D as well but I hate motherboards without any VRM cooling.

Okay, according to userbenchmark there isn't a noticebale difference between the 5600x and the 5700x3d.

Is userbenchmark even reputable?

The ARGB situation on this board, is it supported?

Userbechmark is quite poor.

We like to use LTT, Hardware Unboxed or GamersNexus for proper benchmark comparison.

The TUF motherboard has 2 x AURA RGB headers and 1 x AURA Addressable Gen 2 header.

Here is a picture from Hardware Unboxed with a 10 game average at 1080p with an RTX 4090.

The 5700X3D leads a bit over the 5700x, not by an earth shattering amount but its a lead.
