I currently am gaming on PS5 on an HP x24ih monitor. I noticed in PS display settings that my VRR and ALLM is disabled and says my monitor doesn’t support it. After researching that, I’ve found out that it does support it. I am assuming it is only supported through DisplayPort and not HDMI. I did find out that my monitor only has HDMI 2.0 vs 2.1 like the PS5. So I am wondering if I were to buy an HDMI 2.1 to DP converter, if #1 Would there be any performance loss by using an adapter? And #2 Would that enable me to use VRR and ALLM?

Thank you!

Converting signals takes time, there will be some added latency, how much, I have no idea

Also, you are converting between two COMPLETELY different display standards, so cheap converters will likely give less-than ideal visual quality

If someone has helped you out on the forum don't forget to give them a reaction to say thank you!
