Stock issues

Hello everyone,

 

I am just here to vent a bit.

 

Every time i want to complete my order something is not in stock, i can't purchase everything separately because this will cost a fortune in shipping fees to the UK

Is there gonna be a time when 4 items are in stock at the same time?

Out of curiosity, which items are you usually finding out of stock?

 

Additionally, stocking has been a real issue lately, largely due to having so many SKUs to keep track of and order with. Furthermore: the port strike was/is an issue for stocking, AND this black Friday REALLY didn't help with stock issues with sales going STONKS. They're actively working on trying to reduce SKUs, and get better at timing restocks accurately. 

 

Keeping the cycle of inventory stocked just the right amount for just the right things is a LOT harder than it looks.

 

 

 

Personal anecdote:

I worked for a big box hardware store for while, and live plants were the hardest to anticipate stock for. Even with historical sales numbers, we'd end up in the "sorry, we sold out of roses 2 weeks ago, and there isn't another shipment coming, but if you want a whole pallet of Petunia's, or 6 flats of begonias, be my guest!"

 

Would also have product on pallets that would have the pallet rot away in the yard before being able to be sold, and have a lawn mower be in an overhead racking for 6 months before being assembled. 

 

Another infuriating one was down to a supervisor who wasn't that good at his job, and hose O-ring sets were out of stock for 8 months because the stock count went to -3 and the system couldn't handle negative numbers, so it would error out whenever the order would try to go through for more.

I was waiting for a mousepad for a while now, the size i want is always out of stock, water bottles, i also waited for a while for the precision screwdriver bundle.

Usually when one of the items that i wait is in stock there are at least 1-2 that are not.

 

For example if i wait for at least a water bottle to be in stock the precision screwdriver bundle will probably sell out. Either way, i am probably just going to wait to end of January and hope they have most of the items in stock as i find it pointless to order only 1-2 items at a time

What size? I know that some were not selling particularly well and we're not being restocked as quickly

Water bottles for a while had a buying surge, then the port strike, and a missed order knocked the production queue spot.

Precision screw is now on backorder, again with unexpected surge in buying (see: sponsored creators with pushing precision sales, then sold entire stock before ad integration went live)

Understand the frustration, anticipating the most popular SKUs is super annoying, and if you guess wrong: you end up with popular SKUs out of stock. 

Scribedriver turned out to be a MASSIVELY popular SKU, selling out almost IMMEDIATELY the first two restocks,

tall blanks sold out almost immediately, and with all the Q4 shopping happening: it only makes the problem worse.

Newsletter open rate for BFCM was 58% (industry average is in the 15-20% range) and click through was 18% (industry average US 1-4%), and they beat sales targets by 20%, so more things than normal may be out of stock this buying season while recovery orders make their way over.

Would definitely contact support about that.

As of now: the 1200x600 northern lights is in stock, and the bundle is January backorder, support may have an idea when water bottles may be in stock, and if it's soon, you may get lucky with everything being available to buy at the same time in that time period.

I already have the northern lights, wanted the crictuit or stealth and every time i look them up are out of stock

 

I will email support, maybe i get a reply before Christmas

The 1200x700 IS in stock for stealth if you are cool with a slightly taller one.

Trust me, I understand your frustration. I live in the US and I hesitate to order unless I order enough to justify the shipping (albeit definitely not as much for the friends across the pond like you) and once I usually can what I want is gone. My biggest complaint is the lack of communication too between what is temporary stock and will never get restocked and what is permanent stock and we can just wait for the restocking. For example the Indoor hoodie, when I finally went to pull the trigger it was out of stock and support told me as of the moment there is no plans to restock... Well if I knew that when it was in stock that would have been great. (If Linus mentioned it was a limited time thing on WAN then I may have forgotten)

I was waiting for Black Friday to order pretty much anything, and I missed the email about the BOGO on the water bottles (has been on my list for a while), so now I'm stuck waiting for a restock. So mad I missed the email >.< Woulda loved to save the shipping having it come with my jacket and screwdriver haha

Been waiting a month now to order a 21oz and 40oz water bottle to complete my set (love my 640z, but it's too much unless its the ONLY thing I'm drinking that day at work). Missed out on the BOGO sale for Black Friday, which is what finished off the bottle stock they had.

 

And of course, they never seem to have the LTT cable ties 50-pack in stock. Want to use the official ones to go with my MCM gear for redoing my desk.
