Happy Thanksgiving to you all 🦃, I want to take advantage of the black friday sales, my current system is

- i7 8700

- rx 6600

-32 ddr4 / 3200

- 430 w psu

- 240 hz 1440p monitor

I mostly play call of duty, the goal is to play at 1440p smooth at over or around 120 fps. I was thinking to upgrade psu and to a rx 7800 xt or I can do a am5 upgrade but will have to keep my rx 6600 I can't afford to do both, which one will benefit the most

You're gonna have to do both if you want >120 fps in cod, assuming it's bo6

What's your budget?

Yes bo6 and budget is around 1200, but I prefer not to buy a pre built

Definitely avoid prebuilts, they're overpriced and can be problematic.

To minimize the cost, you can keep your RAM and build a new system with a 5700X3D and a GPU that's fast enough, likely a used 3080 or 6800XT.

For this you'll need a different motherboard (IMO used X370 or new B550), PSU (at least 700W) and possibly a new cooler as well.
