Budget : No frivolity, most recent and future proof parts, and follow the "purple mixer rule"

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for:  office work, browsing the net like what I'm doing now, YouTube, Android emulator games on Bluestacks.

 

 

Background:   This is not my first built. However, this will be my first time that I assemble a complete new computer. Because of Microsoft, my Alienware X51 R3 (i7-6700, GTX960, SSD, HDD) will be obsolete next year despite running very well for my need.

 

Earlier this year:  When AMD released early this year the Ryzen 7 8700G, I told my self   "that's the CPU i need "  and I started to plan (research, study, thinking) a build for the end of  2024.

 

Moment present:  It's time.   I most say the GEEKOM AE8 Mini PC AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS  is very enticing. My mother-in-law will get one due to also having a 6th generation cpu.

 

2024 PC parts:  I want to encourage my local (15 miles away) computer parts store but amazon is offering the parts I want at the current time.

What is the "purple mixer rule"?  If the product with the same specs is less expensive in that color and you don't care about the look.....

 

Now, try to guess which color is our KitchenAid Artisan stand mixer who is stored in a cabinet.

 

 

Why I want to install a 7 8700g? 

I don't have the need to go way faster or bigger than what I currently have.

 

Why  I want to install an Asus 870-A?    I run 2 monitors with a iGPU.  I need the HDMI and DP for now.  Furthermore, what testers and reviewers don't talk a lot is the I/Os. USB4 with DP; not all mobos has that feature.  USB -C with 30w PD; don't see that often.  No USB 2.0. It's 2024 now, my 9 years old computer has USB 3.0. 

 

Why I want to use the Qube 500?  USB-C gen 2x2 on front panel and I/os on the top.  The computer is located below my elbows.

 

 

Using the "gaming" word on everything just to put slap a premium price on something mainstream.
