It looks good! Maybe consider the cheaper and similar performing r7 9700x and maybe a 7900xtx if you are fine with AMD for your GPU.

Make sure to mark solutions, as it helps us find people who need help faster. Thanks!

Since this is your first PC build, I’d recommend making a few changes to get better performance and value for your money.

  1. CPU: Consider swapping the 9700X for the 9800X3D. The 9800X3D offers better performance, especially for gaming, thanks to its 3D V-Cache technology.

  2. RAM: You can downgrade from 32GB DDR5 to 16GB DDR5. Most gamers and general users don’t need 32GB unless you’re doing heavy multitasking, content creation, or running memory-intensive workloads.

  3. PSU: Switch from the Corsair RM1000X to the Corsair RM750e. A 1000W PSU is overkill unless you're planning to run extremely power-hungry components like an RTX 4090 or RTX 5090. A 750W unit will be more than enough for your current setup and save you money.

  4. Fans: While Noctua fans are excellent, you can get great performance for less money by going with something like a 5-pack of Arctic PWM fans (assuming they’re available in your region). They offer great value and solid cooling performance.

Overall, by making these changes, you'll get a more balanced build and save money for future upgrades. Trust me, I’ve been there—I spent $2,000 on my first build and ended up with an imbalanced system that didn’t perform as expected. Hopefully, my advice helps you avoid some of those pitfalls!

Good luck with your build, and feel free to reach out if you need more tips!

It looks like they’re aiming for a higher-end build with NVIDIA, but if the goal is to save money, the Ryzen 5 7600X or 9600X would be a much better value. AMD’s CPUs offer great performance, especially for gaming, and would allow more budget flexibility for other components.

That said, I do feel that AMD’s RX 6000/7000 series still doesn’t get the attention it deserves from gamers, but that’s a separate issue. I also pointed out that their build seems unbalanced and could use some adjustments to optimize both performance and cost-efficiency.

PCs I used before:

  1. Pentium G4500 | 4GB/8GB DDR4 2133Mhz | H110 | GTX 1050
  2. Ryzen 3 1200 3,5Ghz / OC:4Ghz | 8GB DDR4 2133Mhz / 16GB 3200Mhz | B450 | GTX 1050

If possible, always go for a higher-end CPU, but make sure your motherboard can support it. Your B650 should work fine, but with the money you're saving, it’s worth checking if any newer chipset boards might offer better performance. I haven't fully explored AM5 yet, but based on my experience with AM4, B-series motherboards usually handle things well. If you can squeeze an X670E board into your budget, that would be a solid upgrade.

Pretty typical response from an NVIDIA user. No hard feelings, just pointing out that you could save some cash by switching to AMD. I recently helped a friend swap his RTX 3080 for a Radeon RX 7800 XT, and honestly, I didn’t notice much of a difference in performance.

We're assuming this is for gaming and streaming. Since it's OP's first PC build and they didn’t clarify in the post, I’m expecting a more 'jack of all trades' kind of setup.

Raw performance wise there won't be much of a difference, unless we're talking RT performance Nvidia takes the cake there. The AMD cards are great for price to performance but have some negatives. Mainly drivers and software issues. Those drivers and software issues cause for not that great ease of use for the average person. I've yet to have an AMD GPU not have driver/software issues. It's just par for the course at this point with Radeon GPUs. And if you do go Radeon, don't buy an XFX card.

What do you think? (i know i need more fans) 😄

What will you do with it ?

It's okay but for gaming a 9800x3d would be better

Nope, any A620/B650/X670 board will be fine, you may need a new BIOS version tho

Kinda, as long as you have an USB stick with the BIOS on it !  🙂

I think that all AM5 boards (maybe not the crappiest A620 ones) have flashback feature

I don't agree at all. Sorry but suggesting 9800x3D and saying 16 GB RAM will be enough doesn't make any sense. New games and apps are RAM hungry, they will use and give more performance in return if you let them have more than 16 GB. Not having 32 GB of RAM would *kill* that CPU's precious performance.

a 9700x is fine for most use cases. and stick to 32 gbs of ram. Don't go Intel since the new gen is pretty terrible and performs worse than the previous gen, which was also not good. AMD is superior at the moment.
